Detailed review of OpenRock S2

I ordered the OpenRock S2 earbuds after seeing some reviews about their BassDirect technology. The ordering process on their website was straightforward and I received a confirmation email immediately. Shipping took about 6 days to get to me in California, which was within their estimated timeframe. Packaging was minimal but secure. Pairing them with my phone was quick using Bluetooth 5.3. I've used them for gym workouts and a few outdoor runs. The sound quality is surprisingly good for open-ear, with a noticeable punch in the bass. The adjustable ear hooks really helped with getting a stable, comfortable fit, even with my glasses. The noise-canceling microphone worked well for a couple of calls I took during my workouts; people on the other end said they could hear me clearly. Battery life has been excellent, easily getting through my week of activities without recharging the case. The only minor point is that in very windy conditions, some audio clarity can be lost, but that's expected with open-ear designs.

Good earbuds, comfy fit

I got the OpenRock S2 headphones last week for my runs. They felt really good, stayed put even when I was sweating a lot. Sound was clear, and I could still hear traffic which is important for safety. Pretty happy with them overall.

Reliable headphones again

This isn't my first OpenRock purchase; I've had the OpenRock S before and they lasted me ages. This time I went for the OpenRock Link 20. Glad to see the quality and reliability are still there. The sound profile feels a bit more refined than my old S model, especially the bass. They're still super comfortable for long wear. It's why I keep coming back, they just work.

Decent sound, long battery

I bought the OpenRock S headphones mainly for cycling. The battery life was impressive, lasted me several long rides without needing a charge. Sound was clear enough, and the open-ear design was good for situational awareness. My only small gripe is that the ear hooks felt a tiny bit bulky with my helmet sometimes. But overall, a good purchase.

Great value, worth it

I was looking for some new workout earbuds and found OpenRock. The OpenRock X looked good and I got them with a first-time buyer discount. Felt like a solid deal. They shipped pretty fast too. Sound quality was good, especially the bass. Definitely feel like I got my money's worth.

How's the return policy if these don't work out? I'm kinda picky about fit and sound.

M Mia T. 1 month ago
Returns were pretty straightforward for me. Just initiated it through their website and got a label. No hassle.

They have a 30-day return window I think. As long as they're in good condition, you should be fine. Just make sure to keep the original packaging.

Anyone know how long shipping usually takes to, like, Chicago? Need these for a trip next week.

T Troy 1 month ago
Mine got to NYC in about 4-5 days after I ordered. They shipped pretty quick.

Depends on what shipping option you pick, but standard usually takes about a week for me on the West Coast. Might be tight for next week, just a heads up.

Does anyone know if OpenRock will have a Black Friday sale this year? Trying to decide if I should wait.

B Beth 1 month ago
They usually do! Almost every year they have sales for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. I'd definitely wait if you can.

Historically, they've had some pretty good discounts during those big holiday sales. I'd bet on seeing something around 20-30% off specific models.

I saw a 15% off code but also saw something about a newsletter signup. Can I use both of those together?

R Renee Z. 1 month ago
Nah, pretty sure you can only use one code at a time. Most sites are like that.

I tried stacking a coupon once and it didn't work. They typically only let you use one promo code per order, especially if one is a site-wide thing or a first-order discount.

Are these OpenRock earbuds actually good for running? Do they stay put when you're moving a lot?

D Dan 1 month ago
I use my OpenRock S2s for my daily runs, and they stay on great. Never had them fall off, even during sprints. The ear hook design is super secure.

Yeah, they're designed for sports. The adjustable hook helps a lot to keep them stable. I do CrossFit with mine, no issues at all.

Are there any student discounts available for OpenRock? My budget's kinda tight right now.

S Steve Bennett 1 month ago
Yeah, I think they do. I saw an option for student discount verification on their site last time I checked. It's usually through some third-party service.

They definitely have one! I used it a few months ago. Just look for the link in their footer or FAQ section, it'll take you to the verification page.

Comparing these to Shokz, what's the real difference in sound quality, especially for bass?

T Tara 1 month ago
The BassDirect tech on the OpenRocks is legit. I have both, and the OpenRocks definitely have a fuller sound, especially in the low end. Shokz can be a bit thin sometimes.

Hey, thinking about grabbing the OpenRock X. I'm usually a medium for most headphones, but sometimes these open-ear ones fit weird. What's the sizing like?

B Brett G. 1 month ago
The X has an adjustable ear hook so you can kinda mold it to your ear shape. I have small ears and it works for me.

D Daisy 1 month ago
Yeah, the ear hooks are pretty flexible. I wear glasses and had no issues. You can adjust the angle to get it comfy.
